Fried Green Beans
Fried Green Beans. What a great tailgate munchie. The plastic containers make prep a breeze. All you need is a tailgate grill and you are the star of the tailgate! Cannot wait for tailgating to begin!!! Whatever is left over for aioli sauces make for phenomenal burger or braut topping.
I recommend making the aioli before the green beans to let the dipping sauce flavors blend together.
TimePrep Time: 0:10 | Cook Time: 0:25 | Total Time: 0:35
- 1/2 pound fresh green beans ends clipped, washed and dried thoroughly
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard seed
- 2 teaspoons favorite seasoning herb mix
- 1/4 cup cassava flour
- 1 whole egg you must use the whole egg
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Get 2 medium size Tupperware containers. In the first Tupperware container mix ground mustard seed, seasoning mix, and cassava flour and set aside. In the second Tupperware container whisk egg and put in green beans. Secure lid and shake the green beans in egg until completely coated.
In a skillet of medium to medium high heat melt the coconut and olive oils until there is a gloss to the oil.
Using tongs take a few green beans and tap off excess egg wash and place into the flour mix, shake until well coated, again tapping off excess. Place coated green beans on a separate plate and continue egg wash to flour until all the green beans are coated.
Place a single layer of green beans in skillet, cooking on each side until golden roughly 2 minutes on each side. Use the tongs to flip the green beans and to remove out of skillet, once golden on each side, to a wire cooling rack. I put a plate under the cooling rack to catch any oil drips.
Serve with one of my delicious Mayonnaise or Aioli dips!
